At the beginning of the extraordinary session of the Parliament of Estonia (Riijikogu) on Monday, a vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Kai Kallas was initiated.
This is reported by ERR.
It was signed by deputies from the opposition factions EKRE, Center Party and Isamaa. The draft decision was handed over by Isamaa chairman Urmas Reinsal.
The vote of no confidence is based on four points: concerns that the government's actions will exacerbate the demographic crisis, a statement that the government does not have a mandate to raise taxes, the prime minister's "unacceptable" rhetoric, and that the coalition is trying to exclude parliament from the political process.
The decision on when the vote of no confidence will be put to the vote is made by the government.
It will be recalled that Kaia Kallas became the Prime Minister of Estonia for the second time after winning the parliamentary elections in early April.
