The dollar is getting cheaper again: exchange offices have updated currency rates

The dollar exchange rate in Ukraine's exchange offices is decreasing again after a slight increase at the end of last week. The single European currency also fell in price.

The average exchange rate of the dollar in Ukraine on the morning of June 12 fell by 5 kopecks to 37.30 hryvnias in sales. The euro rate decreased by 5 kopecks to 40.40 hryvnias per euro. Dollars are bought at exchange offices for an average of UAH 36.80, euros for UAH 39.70.

The official NBU dollar exchange rate has not changed since July 2022 and is 36.5686 hryvnias per dollar. The official exchange rate of the euro on June 12 is 39.4082 hryvnias per euro (+0.1463 hryvnias).

According to the NBU, the situation on the cashless market improved last week. In order to maintain the balance, the NBU sold 278 million dollars during the week, which is significantly less than the week before (457 million dollars). Since the beginning of the year, the NBU has sold 10.894 billion dollars.

So far, the NBU does not plan to change the official exchange rate of 36.6 hryvnias, at which the central bank buys and sells currency on the interbank basis. The NBU also sees no cause for concern due to the record high volume of interbank currency sales, as these interventions are covered by international aid, and Ukraine's reserves are growing.

In particular, in May, reserves increased by 3.8% to 37.3 billion dollars - the maximum in 11 years.
