Ukraine is ready to launch a counteroffensive. It can happen tomorrow or in a week, - Danilov

Ukraine is ready to launch its counteroffensive to liberate its territories from the occupying forces. It could happen tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, or a week from now.

This was stated by the Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov in an interview for the BBC.

As the publication writes, Danilov did not name specific dates, but noted that Ukraine "has no right to make a mistake" regarding this decision, as it is a "historic opportunity" that "we cannot lose."

According to him, the Armed Forces will launch an offensive when the commanders calculate that "we can get the best result at this stage of the war."

When asked whether the Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready for an offensive, he answered: "We are always ready. Just as we were ready to defend our country at any moment. And it is not a matter of time."

"This (counteroffensive) can happen tomorrow, the day after tomorrow or a week later. It would be strange if I named the dates of the beginning of these or other events. It cannot be like this... Our country faces a very responsible task. And we understand that we have no right by mistake," Danilova was quoted as saying by VVS.

Also, the secretary of the National Security Council rejected the assumption that the counteroffensive had already begun, stating that "the destruction of Russian control centers and Russian military equipment" had been the task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since February 24 last year.

"We don't have days off in this war," Danilov added.

It should be noted that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi published a video on the Internet in the morning of May 27 with the caption "The time has come to return what is mine."

In the footage, Ukrainian fighters are preparing for battle, reciting a battle prayer. And at the end of the video there is a call to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is interesting that discussions have already broken out on the network about whether the head hinted at the beginning of the announced major counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

 Counteroffensive of the Armed Forces

It is worth noting that the excitement surrounding the topic of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces does not subside. And the military-political leadership has repeatedly made statements regarding the preparation of our troops for relevant operations.

From the latter, the advisor to the head of the OP, Mykhailo Podolyak, stated that the counteroffensive of our military has allegedly already "begun and continues for several days."

However, he later clarified his words, noting that "the counteroffensive is not a one-time event that begins with cutting the red tape."

Subsequently, the deputy head of the OP Ihor Zhovkva said that the counteroffensive will begin as soon as our country receives the necessary weapons from the allies.

In turn, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that the Defense Forces are preparing very important counteroffensive actions, but for this they need some more time.

The GUR notes that Ukrainian servicemen already have the necessary minimum to start a counteroffensive. But in order to completely dislodge the invaders, more weapons are needed, in particular, Western fighter jets.
