At the end of June, the European Commission will provide an "oral report" on how Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia are progressing towards joining the EU.
Radio Svoboda correspondent Rikard Jozvyak wrote about this on Twitter.
"The oral report on how Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia are progressing on the path to joining the EU will most likely come at the end of June, I think around June 21," he said.
According to the correspondent, this will give enough time for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to adopt key bills.
The Ukrainian government says it is working with every EU country to open accession negotiations.
Accession negotiations concern the conditions under which a country will be admitted to the EU. They focus on the adoption and implementation of EU legislation (acquis). The aim is for the candidate country to meet the conditions for membership, often referred to as the "Copenhagen criteria".
It will be recalled that according to the results of the study conducted by a consortium of Ukrainian analytical centers, the final assessment of Ukraine's fulfillment of the "European integration" criteria was 6.8 points out of 10, i.e. it exceeded two-thirds.
Against this background, the start of negotiations on joining the EU in 2023 is a very real task.
