Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, announced the payment of the next tranche of macro-financial aid to Ukraine in the amount of 1.5 billion euros.
"Today, we provide Ukraine with the 4th payment within the framework of MFA+ (macro-financial assistance. - Ed.) in the amount of 1.5 billion euros. This regular support from the EU helps Ukraine meet its financial needs, such as the payment of salaries, pensions, and repair of critical infrastructure," - said Dombrovskis on his Twitter.
Thus, macrofinance payments to Ukraine, taking into account today's tranche, will already reach 7.5 billion euros this year.
It will be recalled that Ukraine received the first tranche of macro-financial assistance from the EU in the amount of 3 billion euros out of a total of 18 billion euros in January, the second tranche in the amount of 1.5 billion in March.
The decision on this aid package of 18 billion euros was made with many difficulties, in mid-December the EU leaders finally reached an agreement on it.
