Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki considers plans to debate sanctions against Warsaw in the Russian State Duma as typical Kremlin propaganda.
This is reported by RMF24.
The speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin said that Poland should be punished for the "betrayal of historical memory" with its liberation by the Soviet Union during the Second World War.
He added that Warsaw should pay Russia more than $750 billion, which should be compensation for Soviet investments in Poland after World War II. He also stated that Poland should return the territories that, in his opinion, thanks to Russia, it received after the war.
"Russia has already done such damage in Ukraine; at the same time, Russia, the Soviet Union, Russia's predecessor, is responsible for the enormous losses associated with the destruction of a large part of Polish material heritage. It is also typical - earlier I would say "Soviet", now we can say it's a Russian propaganda adventure," Moravetskyi noted, commenting on Volodin's statements.
"They are trying, first of all, to use such a strategy to smear everyone around, that's how I see what the Russian Federation is trying to present. Russia will certainly have to pay huge reparations to Ukraine, like others, because of what it has done war crimes and led to huge economic losses," the prime minister said.
