Norway has allocated 1.5 billion Norwegian kroner (about 130 million euros) to support the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in strengthening energy security in Ukraine.
This was reported by the EBRD press service.
According to the press service, the decision was announced during the annual meeting of the EBRD and the business forum held in Uzbekistan.
This grant is a continuation of a NOK 2 billion (equivalent to EUR 195 million) grant that Norway provided in November 2022 for Naftogaz to purchase critical gas to provide heating and electricity for households and businesses.
As noted in the bank, Norway joins a number of donors who, through the EBRD, responded to Ukraine's needs for financial and technical support. To date, about 1.5 billion euros have been allocated to support the Ukrainian economy.
As a reminder, Norway will provide aid to Ukraine in the amount of 6 billion euros over five years.
