Washington warns UAE that ties with China and Russia jeopardize cooperation with US - WSJ

High-ranking officials in the United States have warned the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, that close cooperation with Russia and the People's Republic of China will jeopardize relations with the United States. This is reported by the Wall Street Journal.

According to the newspaper, the leader of the UAE recently established relations with Russia and China, which negatively affected relations with the United States.

"U.S. officials warned him (Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan - ed.) that too close cooperation with these countries on military and intelligence issues would jeopardize relations with America," the article says.

The United Arab Emirates suspects the United Arab Emirates of deepening cooperation with Russia as Abu Dhabi helps Moscow and the Russians avoid sanctions imposed on Russia for its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to leaked "classified documents".

According to Bloomberg, despite the ban on the import of Russian gold, the UAE, Hong Kong and Turkey became the main importers of Russian gold after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
