Britain has no plans to send fighter jets to Ukraine after the Ukrainian military said it would prefer to use F-16 fighter jets.
This was announced on Monday by the spokesman of the Prime Minister of Great Britain, Rishi Sunaka, The Guardian reports.
Asked if Britain would send fighter jets to Ukraine, the spokesman said no.
"We don't plan to do that. The Ukrainians have decided to train their pilots on the F-16, and you know the Royal Air Force doesn't use those planes," he said.
It will be recalled that the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak and the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi discussed the formation of the so-called "coalition of fighter jets" at a meeting on Monday at the Checkers residence.
Sunak noted that Britain would be ready to help train Ukrainian pilots to use Western fighter jets "relatively soon." But, according to him, the supply of fighters is a "difficult task".
