The EU's special representative for sanctions, David O'Sullivan, is planning a visit to Georgia to talk about preventing the circumvention of sanctions against Russia, the exact dates of which are not yet known.
As Netgazeti reports, the European Commission was informed about this at the request of the publication.
The commentary says that O'Sullivan has already visited a number of third countries, discussing with them the work of the European Union on ensuring the implementation of sanctions against Russia and preventing the circumvention of sanctions.
"Georgia is among the countries he plans to visit in the coming weeks and months," the European Commission noted.
According to Politico, O'Sullivan has already visited Turkey, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan for this purpose.
As you know, in the new package of sanctions in connection with the Russian aggression against Ukraine, the European Union wants to focus on ensuring the implementation of already introduced restrictions and fighting the circumvention of sanctions through third countries.
