Not just regular friends. The creation of a special tribunal for the Russian Federation was supported by 36 countries, - OP

The group working on the creation of a special tribunal for Russia already includes 36 countries. Its participants are not only usual allies of Ukraine.

This was stated by the deputy head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva on the air of the telethon.

"The so-called steering group for the establishment of the tribunal currently includes 36 countries. And this number literally grows every day. There are representatives not only of the European and Euro-Atlantic space, but also our traditional partners and friends who help us... This group has already included, for example, two Latin American the countries are Guatemala and Costa Rica," Zhovkva said.

According to him, Ukraine now counts on the unity of all members of the group regarding the format of work of such a tribunal. At the same time, there are ongoing discussions, which are a "difficult process". Zhovkva reminded that consideration of the relevant resolution in the UN General Assembly is also expected.

"In order for the tribunal to pass the first sentences or form certain lists, it needs to be formed. And the model that Ukraine chooses for itself, it considers voting for the resolution of the UN General Assembly as an impetus for this. Therefore, in parallel both in this group and with our partners around the world, we are working on the text of this resolution," the deputy head of the OP clarified.

He emphasized that quality is much more important than speed when it comes to creating a draft resolution. Therefore, work with colleagues takes place at a normal pace.

It will be recalled that on March 14, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, stated that 32 countries supported the creation of a special tribunal for Russia.

We also wrote that, according to the Prosecutor General of Latvia Juris Stukans, a special tribunal for Russia "can be created tomorrow", but for this a desire is required.
