In the first reading, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on advertising, which is included in the recommendations of the European Commission, given to Ukraine along with the status of a candidate for EU accession.

This was reported by Yevgenia Kravchuk, a deputy from the "Servant of the People" party.

The draft law was supported by 320 votes in favor, Kravchuk said. None of the deputies voted against and none abstained. 49 People's Deputies did not vote.

"320 votes in the first reading for a draft law that implements the EU acquis in our national legislation on advertising. A good example of how a high-quality draft law unites the session hall and brings Ukraine one step closer to EU membership," Kravchuk commented on her Facebook page.

The adoption of the law on advertising is one of the seven candidate recommendations of the European Commission, which Ukraine must implement for the future opening of negotiations on accession to the EU.

In the EU, this area is regulated by the Directive, while in Ukraine there is currently separate legislation.

According to "EvroPravda", the European Commission has provided an assessment of the general compliance of the draft law with the audiovisual directive of the EU.
