French Ambassador to Ukraine Etienne de Ponsin went to Uman to honor the memory of Ukrainian citizens who died in a high-rise building as a result of a missile attack by the Russian Federation on April 28.

The ambassador talked about the trip on his Twitter account, adding a photo and video commentary.

"On April 28, at 4:07 a.m., a Russian rocket hit a residential building in Uman. 23 people who were sleeping at the time, including six children, died," Etienne de Ponsin wrote.

"I came to express my condolences to the mayor of the city, Mrs. Pletkova, and to all the residents. I also came to remind that rocket attacks on civilian houses are a war crime. Our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colona, has repeatedly emphasized this, and I I will remind you one more time," the ambassador said.

It will be recalled that in addition to the 23 deaths in Uman, a woman and a three-year-old child were killed in Dnipro on April 28 as a result of Russian shelling. Also, one child in Ukrainka, Kyiv region, was injured as a result of rocket debris falling home.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi called for strengthening global sanctions against Russia after the night attack of the Russian Federation.
