French President Emmanuel Macron may visit Ukraine in November. This was stated by the former Ambassador of Ukraine to France, diplomat Oleg Shamshur, according to the Mirror of the Week.

He writes that the issue of the French president's visit to Kyiv «has passed into the practical plane».

The politely reassuring phrases that the host of the Elysee Palace «has a desire and the possibility of a visit being considered», which I had heard dozens of times from French colleagues while working in Paris, were transformed, according to my information, into agreement of dates and practical content of the meeting. At the highest level,» Shamshur wrote.

The diplomat suggests that this was facilitated by talks between President Volodymyr Zelensky and adviser Emmanuel Macron, former French ambassador to Ukraine Isabelle Dumont.

«It is said that the visit will take place at the end of November. One way or another, this is the last opportunity for Macron to fulfill his promise to visit Ukraine by the end of his five-year term.

In the future, everything in his activities will be strictly subject to the schedule of the election campaign to achieve the main, although not yet officially announced goal – to win the presidential election in April 2022,» Shamshur said.
