In Britain, there was talk of an "economic Rammstein" to "strangle Putin's military machine"

In the Parliament of Britain, it was proposed to consolidate efforts in the context of sanctions against Russia, which did not have such a large impact on the Russian economy as Western countries expected. There it was proposed to create a so-called "economic Ramstein" for "those who fight for the freedom of Ukraine."

This was stated by Alicia Kearns, a member of the British Parliament from the Conservative Party, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Commons, The Guardian reports.

The deputy took this initiative after studying a number of figures showing that the sanctions "did not have as great an impact on the Russian economy as Western countries had expected."

"These very detailed data further confirm the need for the "economic Ramstein" of those who are fighting for the freedom of Ukraine," she said.

In her opinion, it has already become clear that the West "failed to adequately financially strangle Putin's military machine."

"And we must prevent him from funding his attacks on civilians. We can only do that if we mobilize governments to coordinate both economically and militarily," Kearns added.

It should be noted that Ukraine works together with partners in the format of the so-called energy "Ramstein" to restore generation volumes and financial - to ensure international financing and support of our state.

It will be recalled that on April 21, the eleventh meeting in the "Ramstein" format was held in Germany, where the partner countries discuss further military support for Ukraine.
