Sweden expels five Russian diplomats from the country

On Tuesday, April 25, Sweden declared 5 Russian diplomats persona non grata.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden, Tobias Bilström, which SVT reports.

"Their activities on our territory were incompatible with their diplomatic status," the minister said.

This was announced the day after representatives of various media outlets published another episode of the "War of Shadows" investigation into Russian intelligence operations in the Scandinavian region. Among other things, there was talk of Russian spies in Sweden.

"Sweden today summoned Russian Ambassador Viktor Tatarintsev and informed him that five embassy employees were asked to leave the country, as their activities are incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," Bilström added.

We will remind you that Germany has decided to mass expel Russian diplomats from the country.

Norway declared 15 Russian diplomats persona non grata. They are expelled from the country because of espionage.
