Poland presented a proposal for a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation: the media learned the details

This month, Poland presented a proposal for a new package of sanctions against Russia over its war of aggression against Ukraine, which includes a ban on oil imports.

 This is reported by Reuters.

A diplomatic source noted that the written proposal was submitted to the EU executive commission. It marks the beginning of long and difficult negotiations between the bloc's 27 countries.

Warsaw's proposal includes stopping the import of Russian oil through the northern part of the Druzhba oil pipeline to Germany. It also provides for the cessation of imports of Russian diamonds and natural gas, including LNG, and limits on cooperation in nuclear energy. Germany and Lithuania also favor sanctions on nuclear power, with exceptions for those that trade with Russia, such as Hungary and France.

At the same time, Hungary is still firmly opposed to any sanctions on Russian nuclear energy.

We will remind you that Lithuania proposes to gradually introduce sanctions against Rosatom.

Let's add that Hungary, France and Bulgaria block EU sanctions against the Russian nuclear power industry, including Rosatom.
