The ship Negmar Cicek delivered humanitarian cargo - 30 thousand tons of wheat from Ukraine to Yemen. The USA, France and Spain paid for the grain.

This was reported by the press service of the President of Ukraine.

As noted in the press service, 30 thousand tons of Ukrainian grain will help about 1.7 million residents of Yemen to feed their families for at least a month.

This is the sixth batch of grain within the Grain from Ukraine initiative, launched with the aim of overcoming the global food crisis, in particular in the countries that suffer the most from hunger.

The shipment of this batch of Ukrainian grain to Yemen was supported by the UN World Food Program (WFP), as well as thanks to the financial assistance of the governments of the USA, France and Spain.

"Our humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine, which we implement together with our partners, already helps millions of people in the countries most suffering from hunger, and affirms Ukraine's global role as a guarantor of world food security," President Volodymyr Zelenskyі emphasized.

The humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine is designed to ensure the transportation of agricultural products through Ukrainian ports and prevent hunger in the most vulnerable countries of the world.

Since the beginning of the implementation of the initiative, Ukraine has sent 170 thousand tons of wheat to countries with the most difficult food situation, including Ethiopia, Somalia, Yemen and Kenya.

More than 30 countries and international organizations, including EU countries, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, Korea and Qatar, joined the Grain from Ukraine program, collecting more than $200 million in donations.

As a reminder, the sixth ship with 30,000 tons of wheat for Yemen as part of the Grain From Ukraine humanitarian program was sent from Ukraine on March 26.
