Demonstrators are hampering French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to the Netherlands for two consecutive days. A protester who wanted to run up to Macron on Wednesday had to be pushed to the ground by security personnel, Reuters writes.

For the second day in a row, French President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to the Netherlands has been marred by protests after weeks of demonstrations at home against an unpopular pension law.

During Macron's visit to the science campus of the University of Amsterdam, a man tried to run up to him. Already lying on the ground, intercepted by the security service, the man chanted - in French, but with an accent - a song popular during protests against the pension reform, which says: "We are here, we are here, even if Macron does not want it, we are here."
