In the Shepetivsk Territorial Community in Khmelnytskyi Region, the right to use land by the churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) was terminated.
The mayor of Shepetivka, Vitaly Buzyl, announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"By the decision of the session, the right of permanent use of land plots to religious organizations of the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of the community was terminated," the message reads.
In particular, it is about seven churches of the community.
As reported, the Khmelnytskyi City Council made a decision to terminate the right to use 13 plots of land for the churches of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate. Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council made a similar decision regarding 19 land plots.
The Khmelnytskyi Regional Council passed a decision banning the activities of the UOC (Moscow Patriarchate) in the territory of the region.
Meanwhile, today in the Sykhiv district of Lviv, the arbitrarily erected church of St. Volodymyr of the UOC MP began to be dismantled.
This was reported on Facebook by Lviv's deputy mayor for urban planning, Lyubomyr Zubach.
"The OCU community is improving the territory, taking away the existing illegal constructions of the Moscow Patriarchate building in Sykhov," wrote Zubach.
He noted that the work began after the prayer of the priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
"The police ensure order. We hope that there will be no provocations," added the deputy mayor.
In Lviv, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine will build a cathedral on the site of a wooden church built arbitrarily by the UOC MP. The cross for the future construction was laid by Metropolitan Epiphanius during his visit in the fall of 2021.
