The training program for Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilots can be significantly shortened compared to standard pilot training programs.
This was stated by the Chief of Aviation of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Serhii Golubtsov, during a telethon.
"Two pilots successfully passed the test in the USA. The rating was given very high. And at the end of the report (according to the results of the test, - ed.) there is such a short deadline that the retraining program for the F-16 aircraft may be shortened for Ukrainian pilots.
I will not name the terms... But it is significantly shortened compared to standard pilot training programs," he said.
According to Golubtsov, the general procedure for the transfer of F-16 aircraft can also be shortened, but it cannot be shorter than the terms of training personnel and infrastructure for their operation.
As reported, a group of Ukrainian pilots was in the United States to evaluate F-16 training.
It will be recalled that earlier Golubtsov reported that Ukrainian pilots could master Western fighter jets in less than half a year.
Prior to this, the Pentagon's deputy head of political affairs, Colin Kahl, reported that the terms of delivery and the terms of pilot training on such fighters are the same - they will take about 18 months.
