Ukrgazvydobuvannya, part of the Naftogaz group, drilled an exploratory well that discovered a new oil and gas deposit in an already depleted field.
As the press service of Naftogaz reports, this is one of the powerful wells that Ukrgazvydobuvannya launched in March of this year.
The daily output of the well reached more than 460,000 cubic meters. m of gas per day. It has the highest production rates among the wells that the company has put into operation over the past 2.5 years, noted the head of the Naftogaz group Oleksiy Chernyshov.
The deposit was discovered thanks to modern approaches to the processing of geological information, in particular 3D seismic survey materials, which made it possible to identify a previously unexplored deposit and determine the optimal point for drilling.
"In the extremely difficult conditions of martial law, we are doing everything so that Ukraine will be able to abandon the import of gas in the next heating season," said Oleg Tolmachev, Acting President. General Director of Ukrgazvydobuvannya.
