The President of the European Council arrived in Chisinau

The President of the European Council Charles Michel arrived on an official visit to Moldova.

Michel and President of Moldova Maia Sandu talked about the meeting in Chisinau on their Twitter pages, and a joint press conference of the leaders was also held.

Sandu said that she and Michel discussed the country's progress on the European integration path and preparations for the next summit of the European Political Community, which is planned to be held in Moldova.

Michel noted that Moldova strongly feels the consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine, as well as attempts by the Russian Federation and its henchmen to destabilize the situation inside the country.

"You reacted to these threats and Russia's war with courage and determination. Moldova can count on the full support of the EU," said the President of the European Council.

Michel recalled that the EU has allocated more than 1 million euros to support Moldova's resilience and stability, and that the European Commission has been called on to propose the next support package for Moldova by the summer.

We will remind, according to the mass media, Moldova wants to hold the second summit of the European political community on the territory of the winery near Chisinau.
