The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, said that the EU will support Ukraine as much as it needs, realizing that this is a war for the freedom of Europe.
He published such an address on the morning of February 24, the anniversary of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
"For a year now, Russia has acted barbarically against Ukraine, and for a year now you, Ukrainians, have courageously fought back. We are with you and will support you as long as necessary, because we will never accept a world order ruled by brute force. Ukraine will take the mountain. You will take the mountain and live in peace and freedom. A free and independent Ukraine means a free and independent Europe. Glory to Ukraine!" Charles Michel declared.
On the anniversary of the Russian invasion, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that the future of unity awaits the EU and Ukraine.
