A billion euros will not be enough: Reznikov told how many shells Ukraine needs and how much they cost

Ukraine received JDAM-ER high-precision glide bombs and is already successfully using them, but the one billion euros allocated by the European Union for the purchase of ammunition for the war with the Russian Federation is clearly not enough, as our country needs four times more.

According to todayonline, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stated this.

Before the meeting with the heads of the defense departments of the EU member states in Stockholm, Reznikov stated that Ukraine urgently needs artillery ammunition in large quantities.

At the same time, Europe's offer to allocate 1 billion euros for the purchase of shells will not be enough.

"We need one million shells, approximately it will cost four billion. We need more," said Reznikov, adding that the Armed Forces also need air defense systems, tanks and other armored vehicles.

At the same time, EU High Representative Josep Borrell noted that "money does not fall from the sky" and Europe has exactly the resources it has, offering to remain pragmatic realists

However, Sweden's Minister of Defense Pal Jonson emphasized that if Ukraine urgently needs ammunition, Europe should increase its production.

We will remind you that during a month of fighting, Ukrainian HIMARS can theoretically expend about 10,000 227-mm rockets.
