Great Britain is ready to supply aircraft to its European allies so that they, in turn, can send old Soviet fighter jets to Ukraine.
British Defense Minister Ben Wallace noted that Ukraine would be able to benefit from fighter jets more quickly if European countries gave it Soviet aircraft such as MiG 29 or Su-24.
"If they want to hand them over, we can use our fighter jets to secure them," Wallace said.
He also said that Britain was working to restore its stockpiles of ammunition, noting that stocks had been depleted following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
"This war in Ukraine and the way Russia is fighting has shown the entire West that our stockpiles have often borne the brunt of defense cuts over the past three decades, and we need to rebuild them," he said.
The country is currently working on replenishing ammunition stocks and looking for alternative supply chains.
