Zelenskyi held a meeting with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi. Officials discussed safety at Ukraine's nuclear power plants, in particular, at Zaporizhia.
"There is an important agreement - it is already being implemented: IAEA missions will be sent to our nuclear plants. For everything. And this will significantly increase the safety of our nuclear generation. We separately discussed the situation around the Zaporizhzhia NPP and steps that can restore radiation safety to all of humanity, violated by Russia." , Zelenskyi said during his evening address.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has expanded its presence at Ukrainian nuclear power plants, launching missions at the Rivne and Chornobyl NPPs.
Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko welcomed the start of IAEA missions at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants. He noted that this would allow for an internal assessment of all the dangers and threats to nuclear and radiation safety that Russia's actions entail.
