The decision to supply Ukraine with weapons, despite the depletion of its own stocks, was correct, as it is a matter of NATO and EU security. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said this during a briefing in Brussels.

"Allies from NATO and EU countries have exhausted their reserves because they want to provide support to Ukraine. And it was the right decision, because this is also a matter of our security," he said.

Stoltenberg added that Western countries need to increase the production of weapons.

“But of course, when supplies are depleted, there is only one long-term solution and that is to make more. That's why the NATO defense ministers decided to increase our stockpiles of weapons and equipment during a meeting last fall," the NATO Secretary General added.

Stoltenberg also drew attention to the need to ensure the proper functioning of the weapons supplied to Kyiv.

"I welcome the focus on systems, but it's not just about adding new systems and platforms, it's about making sure they work, that we provide ammunition, spare parts, training, maintenance of systems" that are already there ", - he said.
