The "South" operational command commented on the information of Oleksiy Goncharenko, People's Deputy from the "EU" party, that the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine allegedly established control over the Velikiy Potemkinsky island in the Kherson region. Nataliya Humenyuk, head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, announced this on the air of the telethon.
Before that, Honcharenko published a video in Telegram with a Ukrainian military man and a Ukrainian flag installed on the island.
According to Humenyuk, the military has erected a flag, but it is still too early to talk about the complete liberation of this territory.
"Establishing the flag is a signal to the enemy that we are working, that this is our land, that this is all Ukraine. It is also a reminder to them about the irreversibility of the processes we have planned. But it is too early to talk about dismissal," she said.
The speaker also said that it is necessary to focus on the information of the military, since premature announcements by politicians about the liberation of territories can significantly affect the development of the future military situation.
In addition, Humenyuk noted that the soldier did not talk about the liberation of the island in the video.
