Russian President Vladimir Putin said that "the leadership of the European Union assumed that the US policy leads to the deindustrialization of European states." He said this during a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects, rosZMI reports.
"Today, the EU authorities themselves say that the policy of their main partner, the USA, directly leads to the deindustrialization of Europe. They are even trying to present some accounts in this regard to their American suzerain. Sometimes their statements even contain words of insult. Like, why are you doing this to us? I would like to ask in connection: what did you want? How do they deal with those who allow themselves to be wiped off their feet? After all, this is their personal matter," Putin said.
Putin also stated that by introducing unprecedented sanctions, "Western countries wanted to "crush" the Russian economy, but their calculations did not come true."
"As you know, an unprecedented sanctioned aggression has been launched against Russia. It was aimed at quickly crushing our economy by looting our currency reserves, collapsing the national currency — the ruble — and provoking destructive inflation. This calculation, as we see, as, in fact, everyone sees, did not come true. Russian businessmen and authorities worked in a collected and professional manner, citizens showed solidarity and responsibility," said the President of the Russian Federation.
