Slovakia is ready to transfer its MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine, preparations for this may begin in the coming weeks.
Slovak Foreign Minister Rastislav Kacher said this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
"We have not yet handed you the MiG-29, but we are ready to do it. We are talking with our partners in NATO about how to do it," he emphasized.
According to him, this was discussed, among other things, at the last meeting with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
"Our defense minister has explained to your president how it can be done. And, I think, in the coming weeks, a Ukrainian delegation will arrive in Slovakia and we, together with our American friends, will work to make it a reality... I am very optimistic about this, I think , it will happen soon and the planes will be in Ukraine," said Rastyslav Kacher.
He added that he did not want to comment on the details of the discussions on the transfer of fighter jets so as not to harm the process.
