The council plans to ask the G20 to exclude Russia from the organization

Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada plan to ask the Group of Twenty to exclude the Russian Federation from the organization in connection with armed aggression against Ukraine.

The card of the draft resolution on the appeal of the Council to the G20 was published on the official website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The deputies emphasize that the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine poses a danger to the whole world. They also condemn the massive attacks on critical civilian infrastructure in Ukraine on the eve of winter and the destruction of cultural heritage sites. The Council emphasizes that the crimes of the Russian Federation against Ukraine are incompatible with the goals and principles of cooperation within the framework of the Group of Twenty.

With this in mind, the Verkhovna Rada wants to call for the exclusion of the Russian Federation from the G20 as it does not meet the goals and principles of the Group. The deputies also plan to ask the G20 to call on Russia to stop the crime of aggression against Ukraine by withdrawing its troops from our territory.

The Council wants to call on the Group of Twenty to condemn the terrorist actions of the Russian Federation and the genocide of the Ukrainian people, as well as to increase the sanctions pressure on the aggressor country in order to stop the war and the global world crisis. In addition, the G20 would like to request a significant increase in economic, financial and security assistance to Ukraine, which will allow us to accelerate our victory in the war against Ukraine.

Note that the G20 summit will be held on November 15-16 in Bali.
