Meloni: Italy will remain a partner of the brave people of Ukraine in the fight against the Russian Federation

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said that Rome will not give in to Putin's energy blackmail and will remain a partner of Ukraine.

She stated this in her first address to the Italian parliament, reports "European Truth" with reference to Corriere Della Sera.

As Meloni said, the next "knot to be untied" will be the energy knot. At the same time, she emphasized that "giving in to Putin's blackmail means deepening the problem."

"Freedom has its price," Meloni said.

At the same time, according to the Prime Minister, Italy will continue to be a partner of the brave Ukrainian people who oppose Russian aggression "not only because we cannot accept war, but also because this is the best way to defend our national interests."

She reminded that Italy is a country that, thanks to its physical and geographical characteristics, can invest more in renewable energy, thus reducing its dependence on foreign countries.

It will be recalled that on Saturday the leader of the "Brothers of Italy" George Maloni and the ministers of her government took the oath. A month after the elections, President Sergio Mattarella tasked the first female prime minister in the history of the republic to form a new government.

Before that, she announced the members of her cabinet.
