The transfer of weapons to Ukraine will help to achieve a balance between the forces on the ground. This was stated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Il Fatto Quotidiano reports.
"For Ukraine, contrary to the opinion of those who say that we should not send weapons because it will lead to escalation, I believe that everything is exactly the opposite," she said.
According to Meloni, Ukraine can achieve a diplomatic solution to the war with Russia only in one case.
"The only chance for Ukraine to reach a diplomatic solution is to achieve a balance between the forces on the ground, and if we did what those who say we should not support Ukraine suggested, we would not get peace, but an invasion, a war closer to home," the Italian Prime Minister emphasized.
