On September 5 in Brussels, the Ukraine-EU Association Council will discuss the bilateral agenda, in particular, the implementation of the Association Agreement and the current state of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU.

The meeting will start at 13:15 Kyiv time. It will be held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, who has already arrived in Brussels. The EU delegation will be headed by the head of diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
In an interview with Evropeyska Pravda, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanyshina said that at the meeting, Ukraine will state its expectations regarding the EU accession process, in particular, the start of accession negotiations.
"Despite the war, we continue to grow closer to the European family in all sectors. We are grateful to the European Union for its unwavering support and belief in our victory. Together we are Europe!", - wrote Denys Shmyhal on his Twitter before the meeting.
The Ukraine-EU Association Council functions in accordance with the Association Agreement and controls and monitors the application and implementation of the Agreement and periodically reviews the functioning of the documents, taking into account its goals.
The Association Council consists of members of the Government of Ukraine and members of the Council of the EU and the European Commission. The delegation of Ukraine at the meetings is headed by the Prime Minister, the EU delegation is headed by the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
