French President Emmanuel Macron advocated continuing the dialogue with Russia. He said this at a meeting with the French diplomatic corps at the Elysée Palace, writes Le Figaro.
"Who wants Turkey to be the only country in the world that continues to negotiate with Russia? We must not succumb to any form of false morality that will make us 'powerless,'" Macron said.
Macron also recalled that "the division of Europe was one of Russia's military goals."
"We have to assume that we can always continue to talk to everyone, especially those with whom we disagree," he said.
