The General Staff of the Armed Forces has assured that women who are fit for military service will be placed on the military register only with their consent. This was reported by the press service of the General Staff.
The General Staff considered proposals for amendments to the list of specialties and / or professions related to the relevant military registration specialties, after obtaining which women are enrolled in the military register.
The order provides that starting from October 1, 2022, women with specialties and/or professions defined in Appendix 1 to the order will be taken to the military registration of persons liable for military service.
At the same time, the general mobilization during the war with the Russian Federation showed that about 1% of the total number of mobilized women were called up for military service. Most women were assigned to the positions of medical personnel, liaison units, moral and psychological support, clerks, accountants and cooks.
The AFU remains in need of female specialists in medicine, radio engineering and food technology.
The experience of deployment of military units and other military formations to full wartime staff "proves that now there is no urgent need to significantly increase the number of women in the military register.
In view of this, the General Staff has worked out proposals to include women in the military registration of persons liable for military service only with their consent.
It is also proposed that measures to include women in the military registry be initiated no earlier than one month after the end of the special period in the state.
