The speaker of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, in response to the words of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that Russia "will get more NATO" near its borders, said that he was "rejoicing too early.

"Didn't study geography at school. If Finland and Sweden join the NATO bloc, it will have more Russia at its borders," Volodin said.

Earlier, Stoltenberg said that Putin, who had insisted on refusing NATO expansion, had achieved the opposite: with the entry of Finland and Sweden, he would "get more NATO at Russia's borders."
