Britain has blocked Russia's access to refining technology and its currency

The British government on Thursday announced new sanctions against Russia concerning the export of goods and technologies of the oil refining and aviation industries, as well as the use of the pound sterling and EU banknotes in Russia.

About it reports "The European truth".

In particular, the issue is about the ban on export, supply and delivery of goods and technologies related to chemical and biological weapons, marine and oil refining industries, as well as export or use of aviation fuel and fuel additives in Russia.

The currency restrictions include a ban on the export to or use in Russia of sterling bills or EU currencies and a ban on the provision, supply or delivery of such bills to persons associated with Russia.

It is noted that certain restrictions also apply to territories outside the control of the Ukrainian government.

Britain will also prohibit the import, purchase or delivery of certain "profit-making" goods originating in or shipped from Russia.

The Russian Federation will also be banned from providing technical assistance, financial and brokerage services related to imports of iron and steel.

The UK government is reportedly "determined" to impose further sanctions against Russia and will do so until it fully withdraws its troops from Ukraine.

Previously, the last time the British government announced sanctions against Russia was April 16. At that time, Britain imposed sanctions on the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill (Vladimir Gundyaev), and a number of other individuals for Russia's war against Ukraine.
