On February 19, the UK government terminated the Ukraine Family Scheme. It allowed Ukrainian refugees to stay legally in the United Kingdom. This was reported on the British government's website.

According to this program, Ukrainian refugees could enter the UK if they had relatives there. This visa allowed Ukrainians to study, work and receive benefits for the next three years.

After completing the Ukraine Family Scheme, its participants are offered to apply for the Homes for Ukraine program, under which the British host Ukrainians in exchange for government support. The visa under this program will expire in March 2025. Until then, it is necessary to find an alternative option for legal stay in the United Kingdom.

Since the start of the invasion on February 24, 2022, more than 283,000 Ukrainians have received or extended their permission to stay in the UK.

The first visas, which provided a three-year permit to stay in the UK under programs such as Homes for Ukraine, Ukraine Family Scheme and Ukraine Extension Scheme, expire in March 2025.
