Russian occupation troops began shelling Kharkiv less intensely, but now they are using more powerful weapons, city mayor Igor Terekhov said.
"The intensity of shelling ... has become a little less, but bombs and missiles of higher power have started to be used on the city of Kharkiv. The destruction available today is very serious," Terekhov said on the air of the national telethon.
He suggested that in this way the enemy is trying to destabilize the situation in Kharkiv and interfere with the process of restoring the vital activity of the city.
"The process of restoring Kharkiv's vitality continues. The subway is working, public transport is working... Many enterprises have started to open, many Kharkiv citizens are coming back. The enemy sees all this and it makes him furious. It is clear that he wants to destabilize the situation. He wants Kharkiv to have no economy, no businesses to work and people to be afraid. This is all aimed at ensuring that there is no normal life in Kharkiv," Terekhov said in a report by Interfax.
