As UN Secretary-General António Guterres noted, the war in Ukraine could "solve an unprecedented wave of hunger and poverty" around the world.
"And for people around the world, war, together with other crises, threatens to solve an unprecedented wave of hunger and poverty, leaving behind social and economic chaos," Guterres added.
According to the UN secretary-general, this year's crisis in the world is about "lack of access," and next year it will turn into lack of food.
"Make no mistake: no country or community will remain unaffected by this cost-of-living crisis," the UN secretary general observed.
