Turkey offers to organize a medical corridor in Ukraine to evacuate the sick and wounded from combat zones. The country is ready to take on the corresponding responsibilities for the organization.
This statement was made by the head of the Ministry of Health of Turkey Fahrettin Koja at the 75th session of the World Health Assembly.
"During the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Turkey sent its humanitarian aid, primarily medicine and medical supplies to the region. It is necessary to create a safe medical corridor, especially to evacuate the sick and wounded," Koça said.
He called on the international community, led by the World Health Organization, to support the proposal.
"Turkey is ready to do whatever it takes to evacuate and provide medical assistance," the minister said.
