Turkey and Georgia negotiate on energy supplies to the EU bypassing Russia

Turkey and Georgia have agreed on the joint implementation of projects in the energy sector, in particular, to ensure the operation of electricity transmission systems between the countries in parallel mode, and to supply energy resources from Central Asia and the South Caucasus to the European market. This was discussed at a meeting between First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Georgian TV channel 1tv reports.

 

"The meeting discussed the priority areas of cooperation between the countries in the energy sector. It was emphasized on ensuring the operation of electricity transmission systems between Georgia and Turkey in parallel mode," the Georgian Ministry of Economy reported.
