Occupiers intend to demolish Mariupol's Azovstal

The Russian occupants and the top brass of the so-called "DPR" are planning to demolish the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, on the site of which they want to build a park area.

This was reported in the city council of Mariupol.

"In the "DNR" plan to demolish "Azovstal", as the AFU will soon have forces to de-occupy Mariupol. The Russians are preemptively destroying an important industrial complex for Ukraine. They want to erase any reminder of the heroic deeds of the Ukrainian military," the mayor's office reported.

In the City Council reminded that "Azovstal" is a unique industrial facility. The full-cycle metallurgical plant provides 10 thousand jobs, billions of dollars to the budget and quality products. In particular, 7 thousand tons of steel, 6 million tons of iron and 4.5 million tons of rolled steel.

At the same time, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko reports that the leaders of the "DNR" want to restore the Ilyich plant. They want to open a park zone on the site of Azovstal.
