The Russian military do not abandon their attempts to seize Azovstal in Mariupol. The occupants are trying to break into the territory of the plant by land.
This was reported by the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Peter Andryushchenko in Telegram.
"The occupants under the cover of shelling are trying to break through the ground inside the plant. Almost live. The situation is getting more complicated day by day," he wrote.
Recall, according to the General Staff, as of the morning, the enemy continued artillery and air strikes on Mariupol main efforts focused on blocking the units of our troops in the area of the Azovstal plant.
They also note that despite the measures to evacuate the local residents we should expect a build-up of fire in the near future.
At the same time, fighters of the Azov regiment continue to dislodge the enemy from their previously captured positions at the Azovstal plant in besieged Mariupol.
It is worth noting that there are now over 1,000 Ukrainian servicemen at the Azovstal metallurgical plant, which is being stormed by Russian troops. At the same time, about a hundred of them are wounded.
