The SBU counterintelligence service in Kyiv has detained one of the leaders of the Ukrainian Choice party, Viktor Medvedchuk, on suspicion of cooperation with the Russian special services. This became known from the SBU.

 

"In Kyiv, the SBU counterintelligence detained one of the leaders of the party Medvedchuk "Ukrainian Choice". According to investigators, he was engaged in preparations to overthrow the constitutional order in Ukraine, coordinating his actions with the Russian special services," the service said.

 

It became known that the perpetrator developed the concept of "people's autocracy". It included a violent seizure of power, the destruction of the financial and economic system and the change of the state border. These ideas were promoted through an extensive network of controlled public organizations.

 

The SBU recounted the events of 2014, when the detainee appealed to the administration of the Russian president regarding a personal reception: to "report" on the preparation of subversive measures in Ukraine.

 

During searches of the location of the intruder law enforcers found:

  • documentation and seals of "public organizations."
  • banned symbols;
  • a letter from the Presidential Administration about the appeal received;
  • computer equipment, means of communication, and rough notes from the red-handed.
