The head of the US Department of Defense (Pentagon), Lloyd Austin, is confident that Ukraine can win the war against Russia. But it will need "the right equipment and the right support".

CNN reports that.

"In terms of their ability to win - the first step to winning is believing that you can win. And so they believe they can win. We believe that we - they - can win if they have the right equipment, the right support, and we're going to do the best we can and continue to do the best we can," Austin added.

Recall that earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken assured that a sovereign and independent Ukraine would last much longer than Vladimir Putin would remain president of Russia.
