U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that a sovereign and independent Ukraine will exist much longer than Russian President Vladimir Putin. These words came during a press conference in Poland after a visit to Kyiv, CNN.
"The bottom line is this. We don't know how this war will unfold further, but we do know that a sovereign independent Ukraine will exist much longer than Vladimir Putin on stage. And our support for Ukraine will continue in the future. It will continue until we see final success," Blinken said.
Blinken said the meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials was "very productive."
"We were very happy to get this opportunity. During the meeting, we expressed our deep condolences to the president for the loss of so many civilians and, of course, the loss of those brave military men who did an excellent job of pushing back Russian troops. We also expressed our admiration for their professionalism and dedication to defend their democracy," he said.
