Blinken approved the intentions of the IAEA to visit nuclear facilities in Ukraine

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during a meeting with IAEA Director General Raphael Grossi, expressed support for the organization's initiative to visit nuclear facilities in Ukraine.

This is stated in the message of the State Department.

"State Secretary Blinken expressed his gratitude for the IAEA's efforts aimed at the safety of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, and welcomed the IAEA's willingness to visit Ukraine in connection with Russia's false accusations regarding the 'dirty bomb'," the message reads.

Blinken reaffirmed the US's commitment to providing the IAEA with the resources it needs to continue fulfilling its verification and monitoring responsibilities in Iran.

In recent days, Russian Defense Minister Serhiy Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov have intensified telephone conversations with their Western colleagues about the alleged planned provocation of Ukraine.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergey Lavrov, said that further contacts are planned in the Russian Federation regarding the military line due to Kyiv's alleged plans to use a "dirty bomb".

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, said on Monday that the organization's inspectors will soon visit two nuclear facilities in Ukraine amid Russia's "dirty bomb" accusations.
